Yeah, what he said. Did he ever fight Kirk for the love of a green-skinned woman?

James Booker was too weird for Star Trek. They wrote a script where Booker had a piano battle with Kirk, but it was never filmed bc Booker was too much of a bad-ass to show up :joecool:

Picard would have reasoned with the piano instead of battling it.

Foo Fighers did an HBO thing about their new album. Featured Pres Hall. Grohl is also from DC area.

It was also a celebration of the new AfAm museum, so of course Dave Grohl had to be there.

Long story longer: At the end of the show, they marched out through the theater and out onto U Street -- which, if you know DC is very much hopping on Fri night. Maybe they do that for every show, but it was pretty special

I don’t know how far they went, but they were still playing like 6-8 blocks later when we finally turned around and headed home. It was the Pres Hall guys, the opening act, the Blind Boys and Grohl just jamming their way through DC’s night life scene. Pretty cool.

Cops seemed kind of pissed about all the people in the streets, but they tolerated it.

no politics, I know, but I’ve gotta say: that was 90 min that I could have spent listening to 9/26/72 instead :uhhg:

I actually thought it was one of the more interesting debates in a while, in terms of how their strategies unfolded. And there was a clear winner.

She called him a racist, which was a first, I think. And he took a question about racial healing and turned it into an endorsement of stop and frisk! Now that was an interesting exchange. She didn’t exactly hit it out of the park, but he struck out big time.

I’m with you Nick...glad I skipped it. I appreciate snow’s commentary. Not to suprised at how it went though. Perhaps I’ll tune in for the next one, if I dare :yikes:

snow, that’s all true. Usually I just read the recaps, but I got sucked bigtime into that one...

watching it unfold in real time was a little rough on my tender sensibilities

I’m quite sure I would’ve had to turn it off after about 5 mins. or so, but politics in general just irritate me to no end.

I agree that it’s all pretty irritating to watch, but, if I may indulge in a political comment, it was nice to see Trump exposed for who he really is. He can’t hack it under those conditions, under that kind of pressure. And it showed, big time.

I fully agree. I try to resist the 24-7 news/media cycle and limit myself to the morning news, so in the moment it made me feel a little :dosed: ... but the next day I felt the same way you did

We should all start using Rosie O’Donnell’s new moniker for him: Orange Anus
