If it’s a Vince only show (since the Meet Up covers the Bruce / Vince era), what’s viable show? 10/1/1994 has already been released in full, as has Albany 3/27/93 and the Cal Expo run from . I’m trying to think of top tier shows from that era that would be viable. 9/22/93 maybe? 6/28/92? 10/14/94?

my theory, based in part on the last GarciaLive release, is that Jerry’s singing (vocal quality and remembering lyrics) plays an outsize part in what’s "officially releasable" from the 90’s

I was just about to wish the Alpine run a happy 30th birthday. Those shows are perfect.

still recovering from vacation. We spent some time in Seattle with my brother, went on a cruise to Alaska, and hit the 3 national parks in Washington. The glories of the PNW! :otw:

"If it’s a Vince only show (since the Meet Up covers the Bruce / Vince era), what’s viable show?" -- Is it safe to assume that it would be an outdoor show? Aren’t they usually?

Went to Mount Rainiern in 98’ about this time of the year and those streams were full and rushing ,awesome place!

They’ve shown *old* indoor shows at MUATM, but 80s and 90s shows seem to always be from outdoor venues. I’d put my money on it.

I assume they were more aggressive with filming the outdoor shows and the full summer tour regalia

I would love if they have quality film from one of the Buckeye Lake shows.

but it will probably be from a big stadium show. or alpine again, lol

Thing is, I can’t think of any stadium shows post-Bruce that were particularly good. Giants 1994 and 1995 in particular come to mind as, um, fucking terrible.

The ’84 "Dark Star" is my go-to moon landing version.

fwiw, the 7/13/84 Dark Star was in observace of unusual occurrences on Mars, not the moon :nerd: :nerd: :nerd:

Well, that versions always reminds me of being on the moon for some reason. It’s one of the more peaceful and meditative ones.

I just appreciate that you have a "go-to moon landing version" of Dark Star

I have that thing - is it synesthesia - where you can hear colours or see sounds. That "Dark Star" has a very sort of grey aura to it...when I hear I see moon craters and just this whole atmosphere of sitting alone at night on the moon. It’s weird.

just saw that Bill Vitt (Garcia/Saunders drummer) has died. RIP! He was a freakin’ *great* drummer.

I have that Dark Star in the list! Along with Live/Dead, 1973-12-06, and whichever Sept. 1972 Star is currently on my ipod

As with Nick, I’ve checked out of the library Eno’s Apollo. Not the remastered version, because I’m a purist (and they don’t have it). If a Dark Star gets queued up, it’ll be 11/11/73, though ‘84 is another choice I endorse.

With Vitt’s passing, the entire quartet is now lost to the sands of time. Way to go, Vitt! He outlived all others by a pretty good margin.
